Harlow everybody! Long time no see!

Have been back for 2 weeks and life is just getting back to normal. I really did miss home pretty much when I just came back. Very uncharacteristic of me. I guess there really is such a thing as growing up.

Yesterday was Valentine's! Definitely a day for shops to rip people off and for people to show their love to other people in the eyes of other other people. Get this: You can only give flowers to your love ones on Valentine's and not on any other days because you love to pay alot more for less quality and make the people at the florist really really busy. Ha! I am so unromantic.

Then again, I still succumbed to social norms and celebrated Valentine's. I didn't give any presents though. Just the good o' fashion homecook meal and a romantic setting. Called mum in the morning and asked her how to make her super yummy pork chop. Then searched on the net for a recipe for grilled chicken. With all the ingredients on a piece of paper, I went to the shops and prepared for the little feast.

I came home and marinated the pork and chicken. Need to marinate for at least a few hours you know. I am/was happy. I am starting to have my own recipes instead of just following mum and dad's. When I was younger, I always wondered how can I ever have children because I can't cook yummy dishes like my parents (I am very serious. I really was very worried for awhile). My kids will either starve to death or die of developed country diseases aka diabetes, heart attack.... as we always have to eat out. Of course, this is highly debatable as many yuppies out there will say that they are surviving fine with takeaway food. But when you grow up in a house with homecook food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you will really appreciate it.

Christian came and we were all really to go. Where? Haha! This is where it gets lomantica. I prepared for an evening at coogee beach. All the food will be cooked at the bbq pit complete with a bottle of red wine and cool breeze. Of course, I will be the cook. The pork went first and looked very well. The chicken next and I couldn't see anymore coz no more sunlight. The red pepper, flat bean and button mushroom were then thrown in to cook with the chicken. And then, the bbq pit stopped working. It actually "closes" at 8.15pm. Luckily my food were all cooked already otherwise sad.

So there you go, my Valentine's spent with someone who bought me a tea pot and 2 matching tea cups. The ones I said I liked but didn't buy coz don't want to waste money. Oh, of course complete with flowers. Who said girls are not troublesome.
